Alpana Kumari is an accomplished optometrist, academician, and researcher with expertise in clinical practice, higher education, and vision science. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Chandigarh University, she also contributes as Research Coordinator, NAAC/IQAC Coordinator, BOS Member, and Lab Coordinator, while pursuing her Ph.D. in Optometry. She holds a Master’s degree in Optometry from CT University and a Bachelor’s degree from Chitkara University, complementing her clinical experience as Consultant Optometrist at Grewal Eye Hospital and ASG Eye Hospital. Skilled in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, including glaucoma workups, LASIK/SMILE evaluations, ocular imaging, low vision rehabilitation, and vision therapy, she has applied her expertise both clinically and academically. Her research focuses on ocular diseases, pediatric eye care, and artificial intelligence in ophthalmology, resulting in publications in Scopus-, PubMed-, and IEEE-indexed journals, a book chapter with Elsevier, and two patents—an ophthalmic helmet glass with adjustable refractive power and a virtual simulation system for progressive vision disorders. Actively engaged in international conferences, faculty development programs, and academic workshops, she has been recognized with multiple awards for innovation, peer reviewing, and academic contributions. With a strong commitment to advancing clinical practice, research, and healthcare education, she continues to make impactful contributions to optometry and vision science.
